Government and industry information indicates that the majority of severe and fatal burn injuries are due to clothing igniting and continuing to burn. With that being said, Winner Garment Industries Ltd. announced in February that it will now offer a new flame resistant material called Amplitude.

Amplitude fabrics are available and used in the following: coveralls, shirts, pants, bib overalls, bomber jackets, parkas, vests, smocks and snap-on hoods. This means that fire retardant clothing has just gotten better.

According to the news release in February in Canada, Amplitude is a patent-pending line of premium, high-performance flame resistant fabrics for industrial workwear. The new proprietary fabrics are processed ammonia-free and are constructed of a cotton/nylon blend designed to help mitigate potential injuries due to electric arc and flash fire exposure, while providing enhanced durability and comfort. The combination of these capabilities makes it an ideal fabric for industrial workwear occupations in manufacturing, utilities, electrical maintenance, petrochemical, welding, and steel.

With this new addition to the flame resistant fiber materials available today, the diverse variety of work wear uniforms will increase. The all too popular coveralls and bib overalls that are seen in most workplaces around the world will give you even more protection.
